Cookie policy
Which cookies and browser storage this website uses and how to control them.
Last updated
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar feature that keeps data on your device. This page lists what HassleFreeTools uses. Last updated: 30 October 2026.
Cookies set by this website
None for visitors by default. Public pages and tools do not set any cookies of our own. Our visit statistics are cookieless (see the privacy policy). The optional analytics services described below only set cookies after you choose Accept.
The administration area, which only site staff sign in to, uses a session cookie and a security token (toolhub_session and XSRF-TOKEN). These are strictly necessary for signing in and are never set for ordinary visitors.
Local storage
| Name | Purpose | Kept until |
|---|---|---|
toolhub-theme |
Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme | You clear your browser data |
toolhub-consent-analytics |
Remembers your answer to the analytics question | You clear your browser data or change your choice |
Google Analytics cookies (only if you accept)
If Google Analytics is enabled, it only runs after you choose Accept in the analytics banner. It then sets these cookies:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguishes visitors so Google Analytics can count them | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> |
Keeps the state of the current visit | 2 years |
If you later choose Reject in Cookie settings, the site removes these cookies.
Microsoft Clarity cookies (only if you accept)
If Microsoft Clarity is enabled, it also only runs after you choose Accept in the analytics banner. Clarity shows us how pages are used, for example where visitors click and how far they scroll, so we can fix confusing layouts. Tool areas are masked, so text and files you put into a tool are not recorded. Clarity then sets these cookies:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_clck |
Keeps the same Clarity user ID across visits | 1 year |
_clsk |
Connects page views into one visit | 1 day |
Microsoft may also set its own cookies (such as MUID) on Microsoft domains. If you later choose Reject in Cookie settings, Clarity deletes its cookies and stops recording. Microsoft explains how it handles this data in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Advertising cookies (only when ads are shown)
When advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may set cookies (for example __gads, __gpi and cookies on the doubleclick.net domain) to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ads and detect fraud. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your permission first. You can change your choice with Privacy choices at the bottom of each page. Google explains its cookies in How Google uses cookies.
How to control cookies
- Use Cookie settings and Privacy choices at the bottom of each page.
- Manage personalised ads in Google Ads Settings.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The tools keep working without cookies.
