PDF Tools

Free PDF tools to merge, split, reorder, convert and edit PDF files. Files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded.

Turn the text of a PDF into an editable Word file with its paragraphs, headings and lists. Images, tables, columns and exact fonts are not kept.

Combine several PDF files into one document, in the order you choose. The files are merged in your browser and never uploaded.

Extract pages from a PDF, or split it into several files: one per page, every few pages or by your own ranges. Works in your browser.

Convert JPG, PNG and WebP images or screenshots into one PDF with a page per image. Reorder, rotate and choose the page size. Nothing is uploaded.

Change, move or delete text, move pictures and logos, add text, white-out, highlights, drawings and pictures, then save. Nothing is uploaded.

Make scanned and photo-heavy PDFs smaller by rebuilding pages as compressed JPEG images in your browser.

Convert PDF pages to JPG or PNG images at 72, 150 or 300 DPI. Pick the pages, then download one image or a ZIP of all of them. Nothing is uploaded.

Rotate all or selected PDF pages by 90 or 180 degrees and save the file, without re-drawing the page content.

Remove unwanted pages from a PDF by clicking thumbnails or typing page numbers, then download the shorter file.

Drag page thumbnails into a new order, or type the order you want, and save the PDF with its pages rearranged.

Save a copy of a password-protected PDF that opens without a password, using the password you already know. Works in your browser.

Add an open password to a PDF with AES-256 encryption, and optionally restrict printing, copying and editing. Works in your browser.

Count the pages in one or many PDF files at once and see a total with each file’s page size, handy for print cost estimates.

Working with PDFs in your browser

These tools open your PDF with JavaScript libraries that run on your own device. The file is read from your disk, changed in memory and saved back as a download. Nothing is sent to our server, which also means there is no upload wait for large documents.

What to expect

  • Page tools (merge, split, rotate, reorder, delete or extract pages) keep the original page content exactly as it was. They copy pages between documents rather than re-drawing them.
  • Converters that turn pages into images draw each page at the resolution you choose. Text in the resulting images can no longer be selected or searched.
  • Password-protected PDFs usually need to be unlocked with their password before other tools can open them.

Tips

Very large files (hundreds of pages or scanned documents of 100 MB and more) can be slow on phones because everything happens in the browser's memory. If a tool struggles, try splitting the document first, or use a desktop browser.
