Page order

List every page once. “10-1” counts down and “5-” runs to the last page.

Add a PDF to change the order of its pages.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your files and text are not uploaded.

How to use Reorder PDF Pages

  1. Step 1: Add your PDF

Drag and drop a PDF or choose it from your device. Its pages appear as small previews in their current order.

  2. Step 2: Put the pages in order

Drag pages by their handles, use the arrow buttons, or type the order you want, such as 3, 1, 2, 4-10.

  3. Step 3: Save and download

Press “Save reordered PDF” and download the file, which has “-reordered” added to the original name.

Four ways to change the order

  • Drag a page by its handle to a new place. This works with a mouse, a pen and on touch screens.
  • Arrow buttons under each page move it one place earlier or later. With the keyboard, focus a page's handle and press the arrow keys, or Home and End to move it to the start or the end.
  • Type the order in the “New order” box, for example 3, 1, 2, 4-10. Ranges may count down, so 10-1 reverses a ten-page document, and 5- means page 5 to the last page. Every page has to appear exactly once; the tool tells you which pages are missing or listed twice.
  • Reverse order flips the whole document, which helps with papers that were scanned last page first. Reset order puts every page back.

The panel shows how many pages have moved, and the order box always shows the current order in short form.

How the new PDF is made

When you press “Save reordered PDF”, every page is copied in the new order into a new PDF by pdf-lib, a JavaScript PDF library, usually in a background thread of your browser. The pages are copied as they are, not converted to images, so text stays sharp and searchable. Your original file is not changed.

What is kept and what is not

Kept:

  • Page content, size and rotation of every page.
  • Links and comments. A link that jumps to another page still lands on the same page after the reorder, wherever that page has moved.
  • Document properties: the title, author, subject and keywords.

Not kept:

  • Bookmarks (the outline panel in PDF readers).
  • Custom page numbers such as i, ii, iii for a preface; readers number the pages 1, 2, 3 instead.
  • Fillable form fields may stop being editable, and digital signatures are not valid in the new file.

Long documents

Page previews for dragging are shown for PDFs with up to 200 pages. For longer documents, type the new order or use Reverse order; both work for any number of pages.

Privacy

Your PDF is processed by JavaScript on your own device. It is not uploaded to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the page.

Limitations

  • Bookmarks are not kept, fillable form fields may stop working, and digital signatures are not valid in the new file.
  • Pages can be dragged in PDFs with up to 200 pages. Longer PDFs are reordered by typing the order or with Reverse order.
  • Dragging small previews is fiddly on phone screens; the arrow buttons and the typed order work there too.
  • PDFs that need a password, and PDFs with owner restrictions, must be unlocked first. For encrypted PDFs that open without a password, the document properties are not copied.
  • Pages cannot be removed or duplicated here. Use Delete PDF Pages or Split PDF for that.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move a page to the front?

Drag it by its handle to the first place, or focus its handle and press Home. You can also type the order, for example 7, 1-6, 8- to move page 7 to the front.

Can I reverse the order of all pages?

Yes. Press “Reverse order”, check the previews and save. This is useful for documents that were scanned starting with the last page.

Why does the tool say pages are missing?

A typed order must list every page exactly once, so no page is lost by accident. Add the missing page numbers, or use 5- to mean “page 5 to the end”. To remove pages, use Delete PDF Pages.

Do links inside the PDF still work after reordering?

Yes. A link that jumps to another page still goes to the same page in the new order. Bookmarks are not kept, though.

Does reordering change the quality of the pages?

No. The pages are copied as they are, without being converted to images, so they look exactly as before.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and saved by your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to our server.

Combine several PDF files into one document, in the order you choose. The files are merged in your browser and never uploaded.

Rotate all or selected PDF pages by 90 or 180 degrees and save the file, without re-drawing the page content.

Remove unwanted pages from a PDF by clicking thumbnails or typing page numbers, then download the shorter file.

Extract pages from a PDF, or split it into several files: one per page, every few pages or by your own ranges. Works in your browser.

Count the pages in one or many PDF files at once and see a total with each file’s page size, handy for print cost estimates.

Convert JPG, PNG and WebP images or screenshots into one PDF with a page per image. Reorder, rotate and choose the page size. Nothing is uploaded.
