Privacy policy

What information this website collects, why, and the choices you have.

Last updated

This policy explains how HassleFreeTools (https://hasslefreetools.com) handles information when you use the website. It is written to be read, so it uses plain language. Last updated: 30 October 2026.

Summary

  • Your files and text stay on your device. Tools that run in your browser do not upload what you put into them. Each tool page says where processing happens, and the few tools that use an outside service are listed below.
  • No accounts, and our own statistics use no cookies. Our visit statistics are anonymous counts.
  • Optional analytics. If Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity is switched on, it only runs after you accept it.
  • Advertising. If ads are shown, Google and its partners may set advertising cookies. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first.

Who is responsible

The website is operated by the HassleFreeTools team. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].

Files and text you use in the tools

When a tool runs in your browser, the file or text you add is read and processed by JavaScript on your own device. It is not sent to our server, and we cannot see, store or recover it. When you close or reload the page, it is gone.

If a tool ever needs to send your input to our server, its page will say so clearly under "Processing" before you use it. Such input is used only to produce the result and is not stored or logged.

Tools that use an outside service

  • IP Address Lookup sends the IP address you look up (or, when you press My IP, your own connection's IP address) to ipwhois.io to get its approximate location and network details. Nothing is sent until you press a button. ipwhois.io's own privacy policy applies to that request.
  • Text to Speech can use online voices offered by your browser or operating system. Voices marked "online" may send the text to that provider (for example Google or Microsoft) to produce the audio. Voices without that label work on your device.

Information collected automatically

Server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider records basic technical information for each request: the IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used to keep the site secure and to fix problems, and are kept only for a limited period set by the hosting provider.

Our own anonymous usage counts

To understand which pages and tools are useful, the site counts visits without cookies. For each page view we record only:

  • the page address (for example /tools/merge-pdf),
  • the website you came from, reduced to its domain name (for example google.com),
  • for tools, simple events: the tool was opened, used successfully, failed, or a result was downloaded. Nothing you type or upload is ever included.

These are stored as daily totals. To estimate how many different visitors came on a given day, the server combines your IP address and browser type with a random value that changes every day and turns them into a one-way code (a hash). The random value is not saved in the database and expires within two days, and the codes themselves are deleted after a day, so visits cannot be linked across days and the code cannot be turned back into an IP address. We do not store IP addresses or browser details in these statistics.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, these counts are not recorded at all.

Storage in your browser

The site saves two small settings in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device:

  • toolhub-theme: whether you chose the light or dark theme,
  • toolhub-consent-analytics: your answer to the analytics question, if you were asked.

Google Analytics (only with your consent)

If Google Analytics 4 is enabled on this site, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Google Analytics is not loaded unless you choose Accept. If you accept, Google Analytics uses cookies (such as _ga) to measure how the site is used, for example which pages are visited and how long visits last. We never send the content of your files or text to Google Analytics.

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. To learn how Google uses this data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Microsoft Clarity (only with your consent)

If Microsoft Clarity is enabled on this site, it is covered by the same analytics banner and is not loaded unless you choose Accept. Clarity records how pages are used, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and creates session replays and heatmaps that help us find confusing or broken layouts. Tool areas are masked, so the text and files you put into a tool are not recorded. Clarity uses cookies (_clck and _clsk), and Microsoft processes this data as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement. If you choose Reject later, Clarity deletes its cookies and stops recording.

Advertising

The site may show advertisements provided by Google AdSense to cover running costs. When ads are shown:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used. You can change your choice with the Privacy choices link at the bottom of each page.

For more about how Google uses information, see Google's Business Data Responsibility site. We do not pass any information to Google that identifies you personally.

Emails you send us

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply and to fix the issue you report. We delete correspondence when it is no longer needed, and at the latest after 12 months, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Children

The website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Ads are not targeted at children. Younger users should use the site with the help of a parent or guardian.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to withdraw consent at any time (as easily as you gave it) and to complain. Because the site does not keep personal information about visitors beyond the items described above, most requests concern emails you sent us or cookie choices you can change yourself.

To make a request or raise a grievance, contact [email protected]. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country (in India, the Data Protection Board of India).

Security

The site uses HTTPS encryption. Visitors do not have accounts, and the administration area is protected by passwords, rate limiting and access controls.

Changes to this policy

When we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
