Barcode Generator

Create Code 128, EAN, UPC-A and Code 39 barcodes as SVG or PNG files in your browser.

EAN and UPC check digits are calculated or checked automatically.

This tool draws barcodes but does not issue product numbers. Product barcodes generally need a number licensed through GS1. Test-scan a printed barcode before using it in bulk.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your files and text are not uploaded.

How to use Barcode Generator

  1. Step 1: Choose a barcode format

Select the format required by your printer, inventory system or label design.

  2. Step 2: Enter a value

EAN and UPC values can omit the final check digit; the tool calculates it for you.

  3. Step 3: Check and download

Inspect the barcode, test-scan a printed sample, then download SVG or PNG.

Create a barcode image

This tool renders common one-dimensional barcode formats directly in your browser. Code 128 is flexible for internal labels. EAN-13, EAN-8 and UPC-A use fixed numeric lengths and check digits. Code 39 supports capital letters, numbers and a small set of symbols.

For EAN and UPC, enter the number without spaces or hyphens. You can supply the payload without its last digit and the calculator adds the correct check digit. If you enter a full value, it checks that final digit before rendering the barcode. This helps catch a common typing mistake, but it does not tell you whether a number belongs to a real product.

Download and print carefully

SVG is usually best for label designs because it stays sharp when resized. PNG is useful where an image upload requires a bitmap. Keep dark bars on a light background and leave the quiet space around the barcode intact. Before printing hundreds of labels, scan a test print with the same printer, paper and scanner you plan to use.

The tool draws barcodes; it does not issue or register product numbers. Products sold through shops and many marketplaces normally need a number licensed through GS1. In India, check the current requirements with GS1 India or the marketplace before placing a barcode on packaging.

This version makes one barcode at a time. It does not make QR codes, Data Matrix, PDF417 codes, bulk ZIP files or printable label sheets.

Limitations

  • This tool does not issue, register or validate ownership of product numbers.
  • Print quality, size, contrast and quiet zones affect whether a barcode scans.
  • It supports five 1D formats only and creates one barcode at a time.
  • Test a real printout before using labels in bulk.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a made-up EAN number on a product?

You should not assume that a made-up number is safe. Product barcodes generally need numbers licensed through GS1.

Should I download SVG or PNG?

Choose SVG for printing or resizing in a design tool. Choose PNG when a service specifically asks for an image file.

Does the tool calculate EAN check digits?

Yes. Enter the payload without the final digit, or enter a full number and the tool verifies that digit.

Create QR codes for websites, text, email, phone calls and SMS. Choose the colours and error correction, then download a PNG or SVG.

Draw your signature, or add a photo of it and remove the paper. Download a transparent PNG, or an SVG of a drawn signature.
